

Samuel Wayne Canady, 72 of Grays Creek, passed away on December 17, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Ethel Canady; sisters Joy Bullard and Patricia Canady Marak; and his son-in-law Dave Hurt.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sue Canady; children Scott Canady, Sam Canady (Mary Jo), and Kelly Hurt; grandchildren Ayden Canady, Alex Canady, Griffin Canady, Ben Canady, Avery Murray, and Wyatt Hurt; brother Steve Canady; sisters Lucille Nunn, Janet Powel, and Bobbie Jean Pulley. Wayne loved his family with everything he had.
Wayne was one of the first members of the Grays Greek Volunteer Fire Department. He spent countless hours with the fire department and it was definitely an important part of his life. His service with them lasted 46 years. He was passionate about fishing and hunting and would look for any reason at all to be outside. He was even a music aficionado. He loved to play the drums and even had a band in his younger days called Malibu 5.
A memorial service will be held on Monday December 21, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Reeves Funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Grays Creek Fire Department station #18.
