William was born October 29, 1930 in Floyd, Kentucky to the late William Sanford and Vinnie Merrell Johnson. William served in the US Army for seven years, and retired from the US Air Force after and additional thirteen years. After leaving the military service he retired from Black and Decker with twenty-fire years of service.
Along with his parents William was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-six years Dorothy Waddell Johnson.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 8, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Reeves Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Lafayette Memorial Park with military honors. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00-6:00 pm at Reeves Funeral Home.
Surviving are two sons, William S. Johnson, III (Betty) and Harold E. Johnson (LeeAnn); four grandchildren, Melissa, Olivia, Michael, Wendy and three great grandchildren, Izabella, Ronan and Callie.
