Aubrey was born to Ira Mae and Ambrose Vaughn on June 22, 1933, in Mabank, TX.
As a teenager, Aubrey joined the United States Air Force, where he received education in electronics
at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado. Following his time in the military, Aubrey went on
to work at Texas Instruments in Dallas, TX, and Newark Electronics and Tano Corporation in
New Orleans, LA, before becoming a partner at Automation Supplies Inc. Soon after, he became
CEO and President of ASI until one month preceding his death.
Most importantly though, Aubrey was a cherished and admired husband, dad, Pawpaw and
father-in-law. He loved studying God’s Word, gardening, fishing and playing with his toy
poodles who never left his side. He always said that his greatest joys were raising his
granddaughter Katie and enjoying time at the beach and at the pool, surrounded by his family.
Aubrey is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Sue Vaughn; his children, Bryan Vaughn
(Sherry), Greg Vaughn (Rhonda), Katie Vaughn Geurin (Taylor), Teresa Bishop, Valerie Turner
and Vicki Druilhet; and grandchildren Jennifer Vaughn Varney (Aaron), Stephen Vaughn, Melissa
Tullier (Josh), Jessica Trosclair (Bruce), Tanya Gallioto, Tasha Fenasci and Danielle and Beau
Druilhet.
Aubrey’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service held by Rev. Taylor Geurin on Tuesday,
August 18, at Hot Springs Baptist Church at 1:00 pm.
Due to COVID-19, friend and family are required to wear masks and honor social distancing
