Betty Young

Betty Jean Doris Young, gained her wings on March 3rd, 2022 at the age of 91. Betty was born in Saline County Arkansas on April 9, 1930 to Charles and Exie Mae Cothern. She now rejoins her loving husband of 24 years Jack Young, sons Duke, Johnny and Brad Kennedy.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Mary (Bill) Swope, grandchildren Karen (Mickey) Carroll, Jeanie (Joe) Rushing, Cole Kennedy, Joshua (Rachal) Kennedy, John Wesley (Natalie) Kennedy, and Shelby (Nicholas) Tedford, 11 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren, brothers Arvin and John Middleton, sister Laverne Hess, the families of Lorraine (Troy) Knight and Jane Walters, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and neighbors.

Ms. Betty, Mama Betty, Aunt Betty, Mawmaw, or Mom had many hobbies and interests including fishing, quilting, cooking and gardening. Many a summer break or holiday was spent at her house enjoying her cooking, playing dominos or cards on the back porch and fishing in the pond.

Memorial service to be held at Boles Freewill Baptist Church in Boles, Arkansas on March 19th at 10 am. Interment and reception to follow. Flowers are appreciated, or donations may be made to the Polk County Developmental Center in Mena, Arkansas.
