

Charles Ray Nantz of Gum Springs, Arkansas born on April 9, 1963 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on March 16th 2025 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Richard Nantz and his grandmother Louise Shirley Pyron Shuffield. His mother Beverly Shirley Grigsby passed away on March 17th, 2025, less than a day after Charles passed away.
He is survived by his two sons Caleb Ryan Nantz, Conner Ray Nantz, Auntie Susan Shirley Green, and his three nephews and their spouses. (Chad and Becky Green, Josh and Amanda Green and Ty and Candice Green ) and the mother of his sons, Kimberly Herron Shockley.
Charles was a proud graduate of Lake Hamilton High School in Hot Springs, Arkansas, class of 1981.
With a passion for craftsmanship, Charles became a certified Rolex Watchmaker and dedicated several years to honing his skills with Rolex Corporation in Dallas, Texas. In pursuit of his dream, he returned to Gum Springs, Arkansas, where he opened C & C Watch Repair, a testament to his commitment to excellence and love for his craft.
Charles embraced the beauty of country life, finding joy in fishing, hunting, and raising cattle on his beloved land in Gum Springs. He nurtured a deep connection to nature, which he shared with his two sons, fostering their interests in gardening, watch repair, and the great outdoors. His love for them was evident in every moment they spent together, from teaching them essential skills to creating lasting memories filled with laughter and adventure.
A kind and generous spirit, Charles was a beautiful soul whose warmth touched everyone he met.
Charles's legacy of love, dedication, and passion for life will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the joy he brought to the world. Rest in peace, Charles.
A visitation for Charles will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Gross Funeral Home, 120 Wrights St, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71913. A a celebration of Charlie's life will occur Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM, 120 Wrights St, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71913. A burial will occur at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Gum Springs, AR on Shiloh Road.
