Doris Ann Howell was born on April 7, 1946, in Torrance, California, to Henry and Mildred Lynn. She graduated from Delight High School in 1964 and married the love of her life, Roy Howell, on June 25 of that same year.
A dedicated and passionate entrepreneur, Doris owned and operated Family Hair Care in Malvern, Arkansas, for 40 years. She poured her heart into her work and her community before retiring to enjoy the fruits of her labor.
Doris cherished time with her family above all else. Her fondest memories were made traveling, cooking, and celebrating birthdays and holidays surrounded by those she loved most.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mildred Lynn, and her beloved husband of 50 years, Roy Arden Howell.
She is survived by her sister, Shirley Walker of Hot Springs, Arkansas; her brother, Henry Lynn (Vickie) of Okolona, Arkansas; her children: Donna Byrd (Shane) of Magnet Cove, Arkansas, Richard Howell (Dottie) of Endicott, Washington, and Steven Howell (Brenda) of Lono, Arkansas; grandchildren: Brian Howell, Mason Howell, Kristopher Howell (Caitlin), Christian Zimmerman (Andrew), Sara Simmons (Beau), Jessica Etchison (Jimmy), and McKenzie Johnson; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be held at Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at Gross Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
Doris's warmth, love, and devotion to her family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
