Our beloved Mother and Granny, Etta Faye Butcher of Hot Springs Village, passed away peacefully and entered the gate of Heaven on December 26, 2024 at the age of 89. Faye was preceded in death by her loving husband William Butcher on December 7, 2024.
Faye was born in Nebo, West Virginia on August 25, 1935. She was the faithful wife of an Army Soldier and followed in the Call of Duty whenever Bill was reassigned. Their first 20 years of marriage were spent serving in the Army. When Bill retired from the Army, both Faye and Bill found their Lord and Savior and followed the call to be a pastor and pastor’s wife. Their ministry at Grace Baptist Church extended over 20 years and touched many lives.
This is one of her prayers:
God, live in my heart and love others through my words and deeds. Lord, you are my fortress and the rock in whom I take refuge. I sought you, Lord, and you answered me; you delivered me from all my fears. Lord, as I trust in you, I am filled with peace, and you cause my heart to overflow with hope. Lord, I have learned to lay aside my worries and put my trust in you.
Faye leaves behind her children: daughter Linda Atkins and husband Randy Atkins, son Mark Butcher and wife Diane Butcher, and son and daughter in love, Rod and Gerry LaGrand. Grandchildren include Angel, Ben, Mark Jr, Lauren, Sarah, Mindy and Cliff. Great grandchildren Zoe, Naomi, Dylan, Julia, Simone, Jayden, Jackson and Jasper.
