

Harold A. “Rich” Richeson, 89, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas passed away Sunday, October 17th, 2021 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 20th, 1932 in Dayton , Ohio to the late Claude and Ella Brockhouse Richeson.
After graduating from Wilbur Wright High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he worked with armament electronics and B-25 radar equipment. Later he would be assigned to Lowry AFB where he would teach officers classes on guided missiles. After his military career, he transitioned into civilian engineering for General Electric, JPL, and the California Institute for Technology. Rich took pride in developing weather radar for fighter jets, and at the request of President Dwight Eisenhower helped put the first U.S. Satellite into space. In 2011 he and his family retired to Hot springs Village; however he still stayed in touch with the science world including research into experimental cancer drugs.
Cherishing his memory are his wife, Joanie; Children, Tammy, Debbie(Cathy), Tom(Susan); Grandchildren, Shelisa, Dylan, Ashley(Chris) and Christian; Great-Grandchildren Kate, Kailee, Annabelle & Amelia.
A celebration of Rich’s life is planned for 2:30, Saturday, October 23, 2021 in the chapel of Gross Funeral Home.
