Howard Harding Howle, Jr., 78, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, peacefully passed away at home on Wednesday, February 19, 2020.
He was born August 5, 1941 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Howard H. & Helen (Robbins) Howle, Sr.
Howard graduated from Wichita Falls High School and attended classes at Midwestern State. He was known as a master Brickmason and ran his own contracting businesses that employed hundreds of people over the years. After retiring, he continued to consult in Refractory specialties. He loved helping and volunteered his skills to many civic organizations as well as Presbyterian Disaster Relief, Habitat and School builds in Mexico. Howard’s grandsons had the privilege to learn his craft on their mission trips together. A trade also passed on to his son over the many summers they worked side by side. He passed on to his daughter how to enjoy life, be independence and have a great work ethic.
Howard had a quick wit, infectious smile, loved to make people laugh, and always had a quick story to tell-which grew each time told.
Pa as he was known to his grandchildren was always fun to be around. He loved playing with and mentoring them, be it in academics, water skiing, fishing or watching fireworks from the boat on the 4th of July.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Silvana, niece Julianne Jensch and Patti’s son Eddie West.
Survivors include his wife, Patti Martin-Howle; children Lia (Stephen) Niespodziany and Derek (Judy) Howle; Lori Moody, Stephanie Martin West and Vicki Hawthorne; sister Luan Wachmann ; grandchildren Brandon (Rachael), Blake (Jacey), Brian, Brady Howle, Michele and Emily Fredlake; Brandon Johnson, Dustin Whitner, Destiny Moody, Chance Webb, Madalyn and Marybeth Jeffcoat, Daniel Hawthorne, Ryan and Daniel West; great-grandchildren Anna Johnson, Bentley and Jaymyn Hardwell.
Memorials may be made in Howard’s honor to the American Cancer Society and The Hot Springs Elks Lodge.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, February 29th at First Presbyterian Church, 213 Whittington Ave, Hot Springs, Arkansas with Reverends Susan Arnold and John Arnold officiating.
