

Jackie Deshazo, born on August 6, 1943, in Huttig, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, at the age of 81.
A true son of Arkansas, Jackie lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. As a young man, he embraced adventure and carried that spirit with him throughout his life. He was a simple kind of man—humble, honest, and genuine—the very definition of “salt of the earth.” Above all, Jackie knew Jesus and was a devoted member of the Assembly of God Church in Huttig.
Jackie proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his service, he went on to have a long and fulfilling career at the Arkansas State Rehabilitation Center, where he worked as an Instructor. There, he taught the next generation the skill and precision of the printing press—craftsmanship he valued deeply and took great pride in sharing.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ophelia Deshazo, and his brother, Gary Deshazo. He is survived by his loving daughter, Sheila Watson; his sister, Sheila McMann; his devoted partner in life, Mrs. Judy Garcia; and his dear friend, Bonnie Harvill. He also leaves behind three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom he cherished deeply.
Jackie Deshazo will be missed by all who knew him. His quiet strength, enduring faith, and gentle kindness leave a legacy that will not be forgotten.
