

Jeanne Mangum Warren, 90, of Hot Springs, Arkansas (originally Smackover, Arkansas and then Little Rock, Arkansas) went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2016. She was born on October 19, 1926 to Emery Carl Mangum and Irah McDonald Mangum in Magee, Mississippi. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Winfield, Alabama where she spent the remainder of her growing up years. At 15, she left to attend Misses Howard’s School for Girls in Birmingham, Alabama. Then she attended Howard College (now Samford University) where she was the Pi Kappa Alpha Dream Girl and a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She also spent a short period of time at Florida State University. She was married to Dr. George W. Warren for almost 50 years. They made their home in Smackover, Arkansas for almost 40 years. While there, Jeanne was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, on the building committee for the structure that currently houses the church, was President of the United Methodist Women’s Group, was an avid golfer at Pine Hills Golf & Country Club as well as the El Dorado Golf & Country Club and was a board member of the Southern Arkansas University Community College (El Dorado Branch) in its earliest days. During retirement years, they moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. Jeanne continued her love for golf at the Pleasant Valley Country Club of Little Rock. Almost six years ago she moved to The Atrium in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She is predeceased by her husband, George; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary G. and Allen Moore; her brother, Mack E. Mangum and wife, Myrle; her brother-in-law Thomas L. Warren and wife, Peggy. Survivors include her three sons: Bryce (Paula) Warren of Rosenburg, Texas; Dr. Emory (Sharon) Warren of Plano, Texas; Les (Pam) Warren of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two nieces, Jeanne (Joseph) Hewitt of Fayetteville, Tennessee and Margaret Ann Beard (Larry) of Petersburg, Tennessee; one nephew, George Warren (Becky) of Petersburg, Tennessee; and six grandsons: Blake and Zac Warren of Houston, Texas, Colby Warren of Austin, Texas, Will (Gracen) Warren of Memphis, Tennessee, Holden Warren of Dallas, Texas and Grayson Warren of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
