Marianne Jones

Marianne Jones, 67, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born to James and Marilyn Smith, Marianne was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and sister whose legacy of love and selflessness will be felt for generations.

Marianne spent many years in Searcy, Arkansas, where she became a beloved member of the community. She was well-known for her small gift shop and her dedication to the Downtown Searcy Merchants Association, where she worked tirelessly to support local businesses and bring joy to those around her. In 2022, Marianne moved to Hot Springs to be closer to her family, where she continued to share her warmth and generosity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marilyn Smith. Marianne leaves behind her devoted husband, Stephen Jones; daughters, Amy Byford (Rob) and Jamie Rentea (Josh); and her beloved grandchildren, Reese and Asher Rentea, and Banks and Baker Byford. She is also survived by her siblings, Craig Smith, Janet Smith (Jeff), and Alan Smith (Patti), Doug Smith, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by her kindness.

A woman of infinite love, Marianne dedicated her life to her children and family, always putting their needs before her own. She was a true nurturer whose boundless devotion created a home filled with warmth and comfort. Her strength, grace, and wisdom made her a pillar of support to all who knew her, and her unwavering love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to call her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Garvan Woodland Gardens, Hot Spring, AR.

Marianne’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her, and her legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

There will be a Visitation held at St Mary of the Springs Catholic Church on Friday, December 6th starting at 2:30pm with a Rosary to begin at 3:00pm and Mass to follow. There will also be a Celebration of Life with friends & family at St. Mary of the Springs Parrish Hall at 4:00pm.
