Mary Helen Lawler, 91 of Hot Springs, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday September 14, 2014. She was born on August 18, 1923 in Hot Springs to Clarence and Beatrice (Bagley) Wilson. Age was clearly just a number for Mary, her personality and spunk did not match hers. She could be found at Silver Sneakers workouts, listening to her Ipod and staying active. She also enjoyed knitting and teaching it at First Baptist Church on Tuesday mornings. Even though Mary was “retired” she never stopped working, filling in at church when necessary, and for Adrianne Kahn Jewelers, where she worked full time for many years before retiring. She was an active member of First Baptist Church which she cherished very much, and she was a graduate of Lakeside High School in 1941. She is predeceased by both of her parents, her brother; Bill Wilson, and her sisters; Dorothy Roebuck and Betty Robbins. Those left remembering her are her two children; James Kemp and Susan (Earl) Johnson, two stepchildren; Cathy Mikolajczak, and Sandy Lawler five grandchildren; Eric Kemp, Shawn Kemp, Kevin Johnson, Patrick Bunch, and Paige Rackers, eight great-grandchildren and numerous other extended family members. Visitation will be in the Chapel at Gross Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5p.m. to 7p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church on Thursday at 10a.m. Guests may register at www.grossfuneralhome.com
