Matthew B. Jones, 84, of Hot Springs Village, passed away peacefully at home on May 22, 2016. He was born in Pontiac, Michigan on November 2, 1931 to the late Matthew and Marion Jones. Matthew served 6 years in the Army and 20 years in the United States Airforce where he worked as a flight mechanic. He was an incredibly patriotic man who served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Matthew was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery for his service during the Korean War. He was proud of his military service and career and was a lifetime member of the VFW. In his spare time Matthew liked to fish and loved to fix things, he was truly a “jack of all trades”. His loving survivors include his wife and best friend of 51 years, Dagmar Jones; daughter, Marnie Willis (Guy); sisters, Patricia Evans and June Jones; brother-in-law, Werner Rohloff (Renee); grandchildren, Ciara and Connor Willis; and special niece Pam Evans. The family will hold a private service.
