Peggy Tooman, 78, of Hot Springs went to be with the Lord on November 22, 2015. She was born on February 16, 1937 to the late Bud and Rosella Smith. Peggy had been a member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years and for over 20 of those years worked in the church nursery caring for children. She loved being a member of the church and it was a monumental part of her life.
Peggy also worked for over 20 years as a dental assistant to Dr. Glenn Reynolds. She was an avid supporter of our military and a pen pal for soldiers stationed overseas. Every Christmas she would take fudge and cookies to the local military recruiters. Peggy also enjoyed serving as a volunteer for blood drives and participated at every opportunity she had. She was extremely giving, compassionate and caring and will be missed dearly by many.
Peggy is predeceased by her sisters, Shirley Wilhelmi, Polly Knerr, Betty Lou Dugan and brother, Billy Smith.
Her loving survivors include her daughters, Patti Frazier, Becky Monat (Allan) and Shelly Troyer (Larry); grandchildren, David Dampier, Brian Dampier, Katie Monat, Rachel Foster, Leslie Troyer and Hannah Troyer; great grandchildren, Preston Dampier and Carter Dampier and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 10:00 am at Greenwood Cemetery followed by a celebration of Peggy’s life at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church with Pastor John McCallum officiating.
