Born March 12, 1930 to the late Curtis and Elsie Cook, he retired from General Motors, served in U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. New Jersey, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
On August 27, 1949, Ray married Vivian L. Spencer. She preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by a sister, Betty Robinson and a granddaughter, Ericka Cook.
He is survived by four children; Michael R. Cook (Cindi) of Oaklawn, California; David Cook (Karla) of Bedford, Indiana; Pamela Cook of Columbus, Indiana; Ron Cook (Christie) of Bedford, Indiana; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, sister Marsha Pearson of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and a brother James Cook of Plano, Texas.
A Celebration of Ray’s Life will be held 11:00 a.m. today at Gross Funeral Home with Bro. Darryl Creasy officiating with a visitation starting at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be at Dive Cemetery in Bedford, Indiana.
