Mr. Richard Westerman

Richard Wayne Westerman, 82, died May 18, 2014 at the Grace Home in Shreveport, Louisiana after a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be Thursday May 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Griffin Leggett -Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Little Rock Arkansas, 10200 Highway 5 No., 72002. Mr. Westerman was born June 10, 1931, in Eudora, Mississippi to Robert Louis and Mae Elizabeth Westerman. He attended college at the University of Mississippi where he met and married Betty J. Bowen. After graduation they moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was a member of the Baptist church. He enjoyed reading, and woodworking.  He was employed by Texas Eastern Pipeline Company and retired as a District Manager. Mr. Westerman was preceded in death by his wife Betty Bowen Westerman.  His parents Robert Louis Westerman, and Mae Elizabeth Westerman, and his son Richard Wayne Westerman Jr. and daughter-in-law Jamie. Mr. Westerman is survived by his daughter, Cherral J. Mason, sons Robert E. Westerman, and Mark T. Westerman; son-law Jon D. Mason, daughters-in law, Renay Westerman and Lori Westerman; and nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to their charity of choice in memorandum. Arrangements are with Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs, Arkansas. 501-624-1244.
