A musical "Celebration of Life" will be conducted from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home chapel, 230 S. Hollywood Road in Houma. Visitation will be conducted from 11:00 a.m. until funeral time at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 4928 N. Bayou Black Drive in Gibson, LA. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Washington, Jr.; sons, Rodney, Sr. and Lemark Carvin, Travis, Jerard, Corey and Nealward Wells, and Jerell Washington; daughters, Felicia and Letisha Carvin; twenty-five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; brothers, James, Jr. and Jessie Carvin; sister, Doris Allen; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Jerome Carvin; parents, James, Sr. and Odeal Lehon Carvin; brother, Bruce Carvin; grandparents, Jim Carvin and Katie Henry.
