Callie Steele, age 69, a resident of Morgan City, La., and a native of Houma, La., died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. Visitation will be Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Ephesians Baptist Church from 9:00 AM until funeral at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Morgan City Cemetery. Callie leaves to cherish her memories; one daughter, Sylvia Kemp (Robert) of Morgan City, La; one brother, Richard Steele of Houma, La; two sisters, Olivia Steele and Joyce Parrish both of Morgan City, La; a granddaughter, Jada Steele and a great nephew she reared, Torrance Campbell, two godchildren, Henry Franklin, Jr., and Angela Campbell, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Callie Steele and a sister, Edna Steele.
