

Chester J. Wolfe, Sr., a lifelong resident of Houma, Louisiana, entered into eternal rest on January 19, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him most. A devoted member of New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Chester found joy and purpose in reading and studying his Bible. His favorite scripture, Psalm 91:1—“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty”—guided his life and reflected the quiet strength of his faith.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Chester’s life on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church on Highway 311 in Houma. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Chester worked faithfully at Danco as an alligator skinner from 1990 until his retirement in 2014, earning the respect of coworkers and friends through his dedication and humble spirit. On October 10, 1992, he married the late Enola Mae “Mrs. E” Ward Wolfe, and together they created a large, blended family filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Chester leaves behind a legacy carried forward by his seven sons—Chester Wolfe, Jr. (Delois), Kevin Wolfe (Staci), Rene Holmes, David Livas, Mark Livas (Dorothy), Link Livas (Dana), and Gregory Johnson—and four daughters: Gayle Wolfe, Glenda Bateast (Stanley), Andrea Livas, and Lisa Livas. He is also survived by 38 grandchildren, 65 great‑grandchildren, and 12 great‑great‑grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy.
Chester is preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Holmes Wolfe; his second wife, Eola Ward Wolfe; his parents, Joseph and Louise Welch Wolfe; his grandparents, Square Wolfe Sr. And Sarah Picou Wolfe, Mary Welch Soco and Gabe Welch his sons, Floyd Wolfe, Phillip Livas, and Richard Livas; his sister, Ella Mae Brown; his grandchild, Cameron Stewart; and great‑grandchild, Rahiem Griffin. one Godchild; Constance Cousin
Chester will be remembered for his gentle heart, his unwavering faith, and the deep love he poured into his family. His presence was a blessing, and his memory will continue to shine in the lives of all who knew him.
