Clyde Ostean passed away on March 7, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering love, loyalty, and strength. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Virginia and James Ostean, Clyde grew up with a fierce independence and a heart that was bigger than life itself.
In his younger years, Clyde made the difficult decision to leave school early so he could work and help support his family. From a young age, he carried the weight of responsibility with courage and determination, setting the tone for the man he would become.
Clyde was a renegade in spirit, but his heart always belonged to the people he loved. In 1977, he met the love of his life, Connie Smith Ostean, at a baseball game in Smith ridge, Louisiana. From that moment on, Clyde and Connie were inseparable. Their love story continued to grow, and in 1980 they married, building a life together grounded in devotion, resilience, and partnership.
Together they welcomed three boys into the world. Clyde loved his family with all of his heart and led them by example. He valued love, loyalty, and bravery—even in the face of significant adversity—and he raised his sons to carry those same values through life.
Though Clyde always carried the spirit of a renegade, he never wavered in his commitment to those closest to him. He stood by his wife, his children, his sister, his brothers, and his extended family and friends through every season of life. He raised his boys to be strong men and remained their biggest supporter through both the good times and the difficult ones.
Clyde’s love never faltered, and his bravery and strength were unmatched. While his physical presence may no longer be with us, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of everyone he touched and, in the family, he loved so deeply.
May God rest your soul. Until we meet again, King.
