

Demond “DJ” Marquise Tenner Jr., affectionately known by many names—Tookie, Boos, JiggaMan, Biggie, DJ, and Stink—was born on December 13, 2020, at Women's Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. From the moment he entered the world, he brought boundless joy and love to his family and all who knew him.
Though only five years old, DJ's vibrant spirit left an unforgettable mark on everyone he encountered. Wherever DJ went, smiles followed—he radiated happiness and warmth. He was passionate about Sonic, Spider-Man, dinosaurs, drawing, music, dancing, delicious food, and traveling. His imagination knew no bounds, and he brought laughter, creativity, and kindness into every moment.
DJ's life, while far too short, was filled with remarkable accomplishments. He was brave, always facing his fears head-on and offering help to others. Notably, he learned to ride his bike, was recently honored as Student of the Month, and celebrated a graduation—each milestone a testament to his determination and love for life.
The impact of DJ's life and love extends far beyond what can be captured in words. His memory lingers in the hearts of countless people in many places, and his presence will never fade. Though he has left this world, his spirit, kindness, and joyful touch remain with us all. He will always be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Survived By
DJ is survived by his devoted parents, Jonnalyn Ann Sims and Demond Marquise Tenner Sr.; his beloved brother, Daylen Robb; grandparents Joan & Elisa Bailey, James Sims Sr., Fimecka Tenner, and Arnell Duncan Sr.; and great-grandparents Myrtle Chatman (Great 2×), Daniel McClure, Joni Hecker, Julia & Terry Bailey, and Cora Warner.
He is also cherished by his uncles: Jeremiah Chatman, James Sims Jr., Terrance Sims, and Darius Tenner; aunts: Arnayshia Duncan and Diamond Tenner; godmother, Tytiana Chatman; great aunties/uncles: Yolanda Chatman, Danielle McClure, Johnie McClure, Reginald Matthews, SuBrena Tenner, Demetra Tenner, Hope Warner, Angela, Johnny Tenner, and Dondal Johnson; and a host of cousins, great-great uncles, and aunts who will forever treasure his memory.
Preceded in Death By
He was welcomed into eternal rest by his great-grandfathers Reggie Chatman and George Warner; great aunt Sandra Moore; uncles Willie Tenner and Mark Tenner; and cousins Lanard Danos and Charles Hammond.
Celebration of Life
A visitation to honor DJ will be held at Mt Olive Baptist Church, 3076 W Main St, Gray, LA 70359, on March 28, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 AM, with interment immediately after in the church cemetery.
