A public viewing will be conducted from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home chapel, 230 S Hollywood Road, Houma, LA 70360. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
He is survived by his former wife, Thelma McKinley Butler; sons, Darrel, Thomas (Tammy), Glenn (Trisha), Bruce (Lystra), Troy (Alicia), Xavier, Zachery and Dominque Butler; daughter, Melinda Casson; daughter-in-law, Detra Cook-Butler; twenty-three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Thomas Mike Butler (Shelia); sisters, Nell Netter (Floyd), Judy Gwen, Betty Jean Lewis (Carney) and Virginia Starks; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Butler; parents, Edward and Cora Jackson Butler; sisters, Mildred Swan and Gwen Delco; and son-in-law, Roosevelt "Rudy" Casson.
