Ellis "Jambo" Gaskins, Sr

Ellis ""Jambo"" Gaskins, Sr., age 69, a resident of Morgan City, and a native of White Castle, La., died Friday, October 12, 2012 at Teche Regional Medical Center at 11:50 PM. Visitation will be Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City, La., from 10:00 AM until funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the Union Bethel Cemetery in Amelia, La. Ellis ""Jambo"" leaves to cherish his memories; four sons, Ellis Gaskins, Jr., of Winnfield, Peter (Cecila) Gaskins of Virginia, Eric Gaskins of Morgan City, La., and Micheal Swan of Canada; four daughters, Diana Gaskins of Florida, Paulette Gaskins of Amelia, La., Victoria (Lorenzo) Johnson and Delicia Jones both of Berwick, La; three brothers, David (Earline) Gaskins of Morgan City, La., Perry (Barbara) Gaskins and Jerry (Theresa) Gaskins both of Amelia, La; two sisters, Mary Holly and Irma Williams both of Amelia, La; a sister-in-law, Doretha Trim of Morgan City, La; 25 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; Rev. John Gaskins and Lillie Mae Deplush Gaskins, his wife, Sedonia Gaskins, four brothers, Augusta Gaskins, Alvin Gaskins, John Vincent Gaskins and John Norris Gaskins, one sister, Mary Louise Gaskins.
