Helen Ruffin

Visitation will be observed on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the Mt. Era Baptist Church 406 Lawrence Street Morgan City, LA  from 8:00 AM until funeral services at 11:00 AM with Reverend Norman A. Stovall, Officiating. Burial will follow funeral services in the Morgan City Cemetery.

Memories of Helen will forever remain in the hearts of her son, Stanley Ruffin, Sr. and his wife Rosalind of Morgan City, LA; three daughters, Althea Collins and her husband, Gerald of New Iberia, LA, Freddia Ruffin-Roberson and her husband, Shelby, Sr. of Morgan City, LA and Andrea Ruffin of Lafayette, LA; her companion, Dan Roberson of Morgan City, LA; two brothers, Larry Brooks and his wife, Rosa of Alexandria, LA and Lawrence Brooks and his wife Carlas of New Iberia, LA; six sisters, Annie Bell Lyons and her husband, Joseph, Theresa Johnson and her husband, Annais, Annette Spencer, Joyce January and Lucille White all of New Iberia, LA and Genieve Cheatham and her husband, Charles of Washington, DC; ten grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Ruffin, Jr.; her parents Joseph Brooks, Sr. and Theresa Jones Brooks; one sister Martha January and three brothers, Joseph Brooks, Clarence Brooks and Robert Brooks.
