A public viewing will be conducted from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Moses Baptist Church, 1032 Canal Blvd, Thibodaux, LA. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Verlena Ward Hayes; sons, Joseph Dupree, Joshua McGuire, Shawn Hayes, Rance and Quinn Ward; daughter, Rorielle Ward; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother, Ryan and Steven Hayes; sisters, Sandra and Conqueise Hayes; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella Robertson Townsend and Joseph Hayes, Sr.; brother, Byron Hayes; sister, Cheryl H. Thompson; grandparents, Edna Tillotson, Ada and Tom Robertson; and niece, Renee Hayes.
