Joseph Colar, age 77, a resident of Jeanerette, La., and a native of Florence Plantation, died Monday, May 2, 2011 at 10:30 PM at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana. Visitation will be Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Alice B Community from 8:00 AM until funeral at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Joseph leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Mary Alice Bourda-Colar of Jeanerette, La; one son, Carl Stewart of Glencoe, La; six daughters, Mrs. Morris (Glenda C.) Lewis and Mrs. Herman (Rosalind C.) Diggs both of Jeanerette, La., Mrs. Wilton (Judith C.) Hurst of New Iberia, Angele S. Kiel of Glencoe, La., Julien Williams-Staples of Kentucky and Robin C. Gibson of Beaumont, TX; one sister, Agnes Lewis of Jeanerette, La; twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
