Joseph Johnson

Joseph Johnson, age 78, a resident of Jeanerette, La., died Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the Iberia Medical Center at 12:24 PM. Visitation will be Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the West St. Mary Civic Center in Sorrel, LA., from 8:00 AM until funeral services at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Church Cemetery in Ashton. Joseph leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Rita Mae Johnson of Four Corners, LA; five sons, Larry Johnson, Clifford (Celina) Johnson, Sr., Corey Johnson, and Ellery Johnson all of Four Corners, LA and Tryone Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA; four daughters, Margaret Jones of Abbeville, LA, Marian Jones of Four Corners, LA, Karen (Donald) Grimm of Baldwin, LA, and Kimberly Johnson of Four Corners, LA; one brother, Emile (Urnell) Johnson of Houston, TX, a sister-in-law, Slyviana George of Four Corners, LA; a brother-in-law, Clarence (Annie) Widow of Port Arthur, TX; twenty-two grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Laura Mitchell-Johnson; one son, Carlton Johnson; three brothers, Benjamin Johnson, Jr., Kelogg Johnson, and Rogers Johnson, Sr. and four sisters, Cora Bennett, Clemetine Johnson, Beatrice Mitchell, and Fannie Jackson.
