Joseph Russell Thibodeaux, Sr., age 69, a resident of Morgan City and a native of St. Martinsville, La., died Monday, May 23, 2011 at 5:51 PM at the Morgan City Healthcare Center. Visitation will be Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Union Bethel AME Church in Amelia, La., from 10:00 AM until funeral at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Russell leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Lillie Jones Thibodeaux of Morgan City, La; three sons, Joseph R. Thibodeaux, Jr., Melvin Thibodeaux and Gerren R. Thibodeaux, Sr. all of Morgan City, La; three daughters, Olivia T. Madise and Mary T. Tivet both of Morgan City, and Barbara Granger of Fort Worth, TX; three brothers, Harold Thibodeaux and John Thibodeaux both of St. Martinsville, La., and Weston Thibodeaux of Leesville, La; two sisters, Ida Jones of Jeanerette, La., and Ella Mae Lander of St. Martinsville, La; eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
