Visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home 230 South Hollywood Road Houma, LA 70360.

On December 31, 2023, God called Kara to rest. He saw that the road was getting rough. God saw in her face she was getting tired. He put his loving arms around her. He closed her weary eyes and whispered peace be thine.

Kara leaves to cherish her memories, her parents, Elanda Butler, Craig Maxwell Harris, two children, Kami'yon Butler and Trayden Butler, one brother, Quentin Butler, two sisters, Kendra Butler, Karaneisha Bahget (Hans), grandparents, Sheila Butler Lee (Mikel), Leroy Harris,Sr., great-grandmother, Rosalee Butler, three aunts, Avia Harris, Moore Latanya Butler and Jasmine Butler, three uncles, Leroy Harris, Jr., Randy Lee Harris, and Ernest Joshua Butler and a host of nieces, nephews,relatives and friends. 

Kara was preceded in death by her grandparent, Willie Mae Harris, great-grandparents, Harry Trosclair, Sr., and Pearl Bolden Trosclair, great-great grand parents, Nick Butler and Celestine Brown Butler.

                Keep the Light On

   Though God has already called me home,

   Remember that you are not alone.

   So please don't linger in the dark, 

   But keep the light on in your heart.

   Don't lose hope and don't be sad, 

   Be thankful for the life we had

   and don't forget, you're not alone

               God left a light on
