Morris Lee ""HUGGY"" Charles, age 63, a native of Morgan City, La., and a resident of Houma, died Monday, Aug 1st at 5:25 PM, at Terrebonne Medical Center-Houma. Visitation will be Friday, August 5, 2011 at Siracusville Recreation Center from 11:00 AM until funeral at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the Morgan City Cemetery. HUGGY enjoyed football (PITTSBURGH STEELERS), fishing and spending quality time with family. HUGGY leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Gracie Ann Charles of Lafayette, La; five daughters, Jacqueline (Nathaniel) Jupiter of Morgan City, La., Bridget (Jerome) Young and Karen (Keith) Vanburen both of Houma, La., Sabrina (Mark) Dabney of Patterson, La., and Aaliyah Charles of Lafayette, La.; three sons, Warren Boyd of Houma, La., Morris Lee (Veronica) Charles, Jr., of Morgan City, La., and Ronald Charles of Lafayette, La; three brothers, Harold Lynn (Sybil) Charles, Anthony (Deidra) Charles and Sammie (Carlett) Hollaway all of Morgan City; two sisters, Bessie (Herman) Jones, Sr. and Carolyn (Wedell) Charles both of Morgan City; eleven brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, a uncle, two godchildren, thirty-one grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one special granddaughter, ZaNyrie Lyons and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Irene Charles, three grandchildren, one great grandchild, three nephews, a brother, a sister-in-law and a very good friend, Gina Pressala.
