Rita Laray Rollins, age 58, a resident of Gray and a native of New Orleans, La., died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 9:20 PM at her residence. Visitation will be Monday, October 8, 2012 at Christ Missionary Baptist Church in Houma, La., from 11:00 AM until service at 2:00 PM. Burial in the Halfway Cemetery. Rita leaves to cherish her memories; her spouse, Gregory B. Sam of Gray, La; seven sons, Tyrone Rollins, Kerry Rollins, Jessie Rollins, Byron Causey, Jonathan Thompson, Roderick Johnson and Gregory Poindexter all of Houma, La; two daughters, Kayla Payne & Rontell (Noonie) Poindexter both of Houma, La; a brother, Willie Johnson of Houma, La; twenty-two grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, James and Louvienna Johnson, a son, Lamark Johnson, a brother, Jessie Johnson, and two sisters, Josephine Johnson and Augustine Thompson Causey.
