Stella Mae Melancon-Castle, 73, a native of Vacherie and resident of Houma, died Monday, September 15, 2014 at 2:07 a.m. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at the church. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at New Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 146 Banks St., Houma, LA. Burial will follow in Southdown Cemetery. She is survived by: her husband, Curtis Castle: one son, Anthony James Castle; three daughters, Shannon Castle, Tracy (Larry) Alexander, and Giezel (Michael) Stewart; one sister, Florence Roussell; seven brothers, Royal, Raymond, Larry (Linda), Roland (Josephine), Barry (Verlyn), Steve (Debra), and Clinton (Rita) Melancon; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph, Sr. and Flavia Nash-Melancon; and three brothers, Joseph, Jr., James and Glenn Melancon. Jones Funeral Home of Houma in charge of arrangements.
