Vervidell "Verve" Lucy Matthews

 Visitation will be from 8:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., on Saturday January 26, 2019 at St. Peter The Apostle Church (Four Corners) 1325 Big Four Corners Rd. Franklin, La., with a rosary being recited at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Father Damoah, SVD serving as the Celebrant. Burial will follow funeral services in the Sorrel Community Cemetery in Sorrell.

Memories of Vervidell or "Verve," as she was known to many, will forever remain in the hearts of her a great-niece and caretaker, Brenda Moore of Franklin, LA; six nephews, Harold (Carla) Drexler, Jr. of Lafayette, LA, Earl Matthews, of Alexandria, LA, Calvin (Dale) Matthews of Four Corners, LA, Ricky Matthews and Vincent Matthews both of Houston, TX and Alvin (Elaine) Colbert of Youngsville, LA; eight nieces, Vivian Melvin, Mary Matthews, and Mary Colbert all of Houston, TX, Lottie M. Moore of Ashton, LA, Barbara J. Tardy of Four Corners, LA, Connie Mode' of Portland, OR and Peggy Drexler and Mary Drexler both of Lafayette, LA and a host of other great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. 

Vervidell was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Earnestine Matthews; her husband, James Turner; two sisters, Earline Drexler and Myrtle Colbert; four brothers, Cleveland, Lawless, Ulysses and Horace Matthews; three nephews, Clifton Matthews, Ronald Drexler, and Warren Drexler and a niece, Gloria Broussard.
