Albert Brown

Albert was born and raised on a farm alongside his parents and siblings — a lively family of four boys and one girl. From a young age, he showed a deep love for sports, especially basketball, which he played throughout high school. After graduating from Combs-McIntyre High School in 1955, he answered the call to serve his country, completing active duty in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 and continuing in the reserves until 1962.

In the early 1960s, Albert moved from Louisiana to Texas, where he began a long and dedicated career with Southwest Pipe/Brown & Root. He remained a loyal employee there until his retirement in 2001, serving as a lead operator.

A devout member of First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Albert faithfully served as an usher and was a steady presence in his church community.

Albert found great joy in gardening and took pride in growing vegetables to share with family and friends. His yard was always beautifully kept, a reflection of the care he put into all things. He also loved sports and could often be found cheering on the Houston Astros, the Rockets, or watching girls' basketball games with enthusiasm.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frankie Brown; his parents, Lucian Sr. and Mozelle Brown; his sister Edna Rogers; his brothers Lucian Jr., Ira, and Sylvester Brown; his son Ray Myles; and his niece Shirley Golden.

Albert leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly: his daughter Sheila Bogacz; son-in-law Shedarah Teamer; grandchildren Antonio Brown, Victoria Francois, and Joshua Bogacz; and great-grandchildren Raphael Brown and Travis O. Francois III. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Sylvester Brown, Jr., Antonio Brown, Shedarah Teamer, Donald Brown, Danny Rogers, Allen Sadler and Patrick Jones.

Albert Brown’s life was a testament to hard work, quiet strength, and love for family and community. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
