

He was born on May 22, 1935 in Medford, Massachusetts to Mr. and Mrs. Albert W. Pearsall II. Al was a graduate of Phillips Andover Academy and received a BA in History from Northwestern University, which he attended on an Air Force ROTC scholarship after transferring from the United States Military Academy. Al then earned his MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Following graduation, he served in the Air Force in France. He continued to serve in the Air Force Reserves after completing his active duty, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1995. Al worked as an insurance risk manager for several Fortune 500 companies including Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. Texaco Inc. and Westlake Chemical Co. During his professional career Al traveled frequently to Europe, South America and Asia. He enjoyed tennis, skiing, flying, reading and, in recent years, the sun and surf of Cabo San Lucas when not attending novel writing classes at Rice University. Al was a bona fide Francophile who loved the culture, wine, food and spirit of France which he visited many times with his wife. He also was a devoted pet owner and was preceded in death by his beloved dog Cleo. Al possessed a keen intellect and a lifelong joy of learning. His warm and generous nature and quick wit endeared him to friends and family.
Al is survived by his loving wife, Corlas Pearsall; sons, Albert Pearsall IV, M.D., Jeffrey Pearsall, Craig Pearsall, John Pearsall; and seven grandchildren.
