Albert Villareal

Albert Ray Villareal, 68, of Houston, Texas, passed away on August 2, 2022. He was born in Houston, Texas on June 20, 1954, to Esperanza (Hope) Villareal and Raymond Villareal. He married Kathleen Kelly, and they had two beautiful sons whom he delighted in raising. His first career was as a motorcycle mechanic for Harley Davidson Cycles. He worked his way up to Service Manager of the dealership where he worked. Once he had a family, he chose to begin a more stable, less seasonal, career in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. He worked for many years for Bates Air Conditioning and Service as a service technician and made many friends of his customers and co-workers over the years. After many years, he began working on his own for both commercial and residential customers, most of whom he got by word of mouth. Again, he made many friends from these years as well. A few years ago, he got together with Karen Stephenson, and they married on October 24, 2020, in a small family gathering on her farm. It was a special day and a special union.

He had a passion for hunting and fishing, creating quality smoked meats from the animals he harvested, riding motorcycles, and chatting with his many friends on the phone and visiting. He loved doing special things for people of all ages. In particular, he loved going shopping for gifts for his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father Raymond Villareal, mother Esperanza Villareal, and brother Edward Villareal. He is survived by his wife, Karen Villareal, sister Cindy Kuntz, brother Ricky Villareal, sons Raymond D. Villareal and Jesse N. Villareal, daughter in-law Cristina Villareal, grandsons Angelo and Vincent Villareal, step son Andrew Condon, step grandson Logan Condon, step granddaughter Leslie Donahue, and step great-granddaughter Sophia Donahue, a number of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service for Albert will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
