Andrei Gregory Filippov, a brilliant engineer, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 80.
Born on May 21, 1945, Andrei was a man of deep intellect and gentle strength. A gifted mathematician and accomplished engineer, he possessed a sharp mind and an insatiable curiosity. He was incredibly well-read, with a quiet wit and a dry sense of humor that brought lightness and laughter to those fortunate enough to know him.
An avid fisherman, Andrei found peace and joy in spending quiet hours by the water, making memories with friends and family.
He will be missed by his beloved wife, Larisa Filippov; his children, Gregory Filippov, Dimitri Filippov, and Natalia Nur; and his cherished grandchildren: Milla, Scarlett, Violet, Elon, Nika, Yana, and Danila Filippov, and Sofia, Sebastian, and Olivia Nur.
Andrei’s love for his family was unwavering, and he found his greatest joy in their presence and lives. Those who knew him will remember his profound intelligence, thoughtful conversations, and subtle, enduring humor.
A private family service will be held to honor his memory.
