Angela Lynn Foux Mortazavi, 51, returned to her heavenly home on September 6, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She leaves behind her husband, Ali Mortazavi; and her precious daughters Hannah and Laily. Her devotion to her family and firm belief in God supported Angela in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Angela was born to Elden “Bee” and the late Nelda Foux in Lake Charles, Louisiana on April 27, 1965. She was immersed in a Christian community that impacted her life from an early age. She was raised in the Catholic Church and was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church and School in her later years. Angela graduated from Lacassine High School in Lacassine, Louisiana in 1983. She graduated from McNeese State University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Soon after, she accepted a position as a Registered Nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, where she worked until 1998. For the next 18 years, she devoted her life to raising her daughters.
Angela was blessed with a small and loving family. While working at St. Luke’s, she met and married Dr. Ali Mortazavi. She raised her two daughters, Hannah and Laily, with patience, discipline, and humility. At her core, Angela was a helper. She was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to help her many, many friends and family solve any problem or answer any question. The love and support she felt from her friends during her battle was greatly appreciated by Angela and her entire family. Angela’s loving and graceful spirit will be dearly missed by her loved ones, who will celebrate the fact that she is at rest with her creator.
Angela was preceded in death by her mother, Nelda Lynn Foux. She is survived by her father “Bee” and his wife Jean; her husband, Ali; her daughters, Hannah and Laily; her son, Amir, daughter-in-law, Jade, and grandson, Roen Angel; her sisters, Anita Foux Sanders, her husband Kip, and daughter Maddie; and her sister Michelle Foux Musgrove, her husband Chris, and her daughter Addie.
Angela will be buried at Memorial Oaks Cemetery on September 9, privately with her family. Reverend Patrick Miller will officiate this service. A celebration of life will take place at St. Marks Episcopal Church on September 24, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. All of Angela’s friends and extended family are welcome at this celebration. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
