Anh was born on August 2, 1948 in Nha Trang, Vietnam. He came to the United States in 1975 and persevered against all odds to create a life for himself away from home, thanks to the kindness and help of others along the way. Upon arriving in America, he went to Pennsylvania and was taken in by a Catholic family who played a tremendous role in his personal and spiritual journey. Once an Atheist, he became a man of faith as a result of the kindness bestowed on him by this family who welcomed him with open arms.
After several years living in Pennsylvania, he decided to pursue other opportunities elsewhere. Eventually, he found himself in Florida, where he met his wife, Chung Nguyen, through mutual friends. After nearly a year together, they married in Tucson, Arizona in 1983. Soon after, his daughter, Loan Truong was born in 1984.
Since 1984, Anh has called Houston, TX home. A simple man who never wanted for more, he was a true homebody. He loved to listen to the radio, watch the news, read books, tend to his garden, and watch the sun set. He was a man with a wealth of knowledge, accrued along the way from lessons that only life experiences can teach. Despite these challenging experiences, his faith never wavered and he never gave up.
He is survived by his wife, Chung, his daughter, Loan, his son-in-law, Rustum, and his granddaughter, Ziya.
