Anna Lynn Klein of Cypress, Texas went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 3, 2016 at the early age of 24 years. Her death was a result of a brain injury suffered in a fall from her horse.
Anna was born on June 23, 1992 in Houston, Texas to Steve and Mary Klein. Anna treasured her family, daily considering them to be God’s greatest gift to her here on earth. She experienced tremendous joy when her faithful prayers were answered in the adoptions of her two younger sisters, and then traveling with her family to Russia and China to meet them and bring them home.
Anna was joyful, loving, kind, generous, resolved, resilient, and tenacious. She was further characterized by an unusual deep contentment, with her desires being simple and pure. Anna has a quote under her name on her blog, http://texascountryprincess.blogspot.com, that says, “God first, family and friends second, Texas third” and of course Texas includes horses.
First and foremost, Anna loved God and diligently pursued knowing Him and His Word as recorded in the Bible. Anna accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior when she was five years old. She never wavered nor doubted His love for her, and her life truly reflected it. Her church home was Houston’s First Baptist where she was an member of the Lighthouse Life Bible Study. Anna lived a life of selfless service to her family and others. She frequently volunteered at Houston’s First Baptist Church’s Faith Center and bookstore, and regularly went on mission trips to places such as Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, and Latvia. She also served at SIRE (Self Improvement through Riding Education); a program using horses to benefit those with disabilities.
Anna loved horses. This love for horses began when she was nine and never waned. She competed in dressage and continued to take lessons over the years. She loved most of all spending time riding and taking care of her own horses, Cloud and Stormy. In the last months of her life, she had the pleasure of working in her dream job as a wrangler at Cypress Trails Equestrian Center.
Anna was homeschooled and enjoyed her friends and classes through her Coop Program. Following graduation from high school in 2011, Anna attended Lone Star College to pursue a Veterinary Tech degree. Over the years, Anna enjoyed playing the piano and blessed us often at family gatherings with her beautiful music.
Anna’s name means, “grace”, which is what she extended to all of us through her cheerfulness, unconditional love and selfless spirit. In keeping with this last attribute, her family has honored her legacy by donating her organs so that others might live. They look forward to one day sharing with these recipients about Anna’s faith in Christ and the amazing young woman whom she was to so many people.
Anna is survived by her parents, Steve and Mary Klein, her brother, David Klein, her sisters, Catherine and Kaylynn Klein, her grandparent’s Calvin and Shirley Klein and Robert and Glenda Myers, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her uncle, Charles Kelly Castleberry, Jr.
A celebration of Anna’s life will be held on November 10, 2016 at 10:00 am at the loop campus of Houston’s First Baptist Church. Jason Swiggart will be officiating, with a reception immediately following from 11:00-1:00 in the chapel. Graveside services will be the same day at 4:00 pm at New Ulm Cemetery in New Ulm, Texas. Earthman Hunters Creek Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. The pallbearers will be David Klein, Andrew Abbott, Hunter Beck, Daniel Hall, James Hall, Andrew Hall, and Cowboy.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of the prayers Anna prayed to bring her two sisters home through adoption, the family is asking that gifts be made to the Adoption Assistance Fund of Legacy 685 at Houston’s First Baptist Church. https://public.serviceu.com/DonationForm/23359/?OrgKey=626faf1a-87b2-4a84-b798-2bb0c34696e5
Checks should be designated to Legacy685 – AAF.
The family would also encourage donations to Cypress Trails Equestrian Center to help with repairs needed after the Houston floods of 2016.
The Klein family would like to thank everyone who has impacted our sweet Anna’s life and also for the outpouring of your love and support in her passing. It means more than you will ever know. Her absence seems unbearable right now, but we know God is near the brokenhearted and that Anna is safe in Heaven with Him.
