Ashea Robertson was born on August 21, 1972, in Chicago, Illinois, and moved with her family to Houston, Texas, in 1981, where she lived and raised her children until her passing. We honor her as a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend whose warmth touched everyone she met. Ashea's vibrant personality and deep insight made her truly unforgettable, and her legacy will endure for generations.
Ashea was a loving and spirited mother to her three children, who were the very center of her world. She loved her children unconditionally—with a love that was steady, fierce, and without limits. To them, she was more than Mom—she was their greatest champion, their safe harbor, and their constant light through every storm. Ashea had a remarkable way of bringing laughter into even the hardest days, reminding them that joy can always be found. She embodied both strength and gentleness: the calm voice in turbulent times, the source of the world’s best advice (whether you asked for it or not), and the comforting embrace that made everything feel whole again. Her children treasured time spent with her just watching “terrible movies” and gleefully ranting about how awful they were.
Her dazzling smile and infectious laughter filled every space with warmth and happiness. And her world-famous bear hugs were more than simple embraces—they were a sanctuary, a reassurance, and a tangible reminder of her boundless, unwavering love. Her children cherish memories of her quick wit, playful sarcasm, her legendary “mom look,” and her uncanny ability to know exactly what was happening—sometimes before a single word was spoken.
Ashea’s kindness and generous heart touched countless lives, including her beloved work family at Shipcom Wireless, where she built treasured friendships and left a lasting and meaningful impact. She carried her light into every relationship, making others feel valued, seen, and loved.
As a cherished daughter and treasured sister, she shared deep bonds rooted in laughter, shared memories, and steadfast support. Her siblings treasured the way they could come together on a whim—no grand plans, no special occasion—just a shared desire to be with one another and set off on their next adventure side by side. Her love for her family was fierce and faithful, and that love remains an unbreakable thread connecting them all.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Robertson.
She is survived by her three children: Raymond Davis, David LaVergne, and Kari LaVergne. She is also survived by her mother, Gwen Ayoade, and her siblings: Shirron Walker, Tanya Willis, Dina Jammer (Joseph), Patrice Valadez, and Andre Elmore. In addition, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Through our strength and love for one another, Ashea’s legacy will live on. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her voice and spirit will forever echo in our hearts, and her love surrounding us always.
Her life was a beautiful reminder that love is the greatest gift we can give—and the one that never fades.
Ashea darling, you are loved and will be truly, truly missed.
