Balenda Suzanne Keelin was called to Heaven on the morning of Wednesday, August 23rd at her home in Kingwood, TX. She gave the fight of her life to be able and give her family and loved ones more time than the doctors expected her to have. They are all now left with peace knowing she in no longer in pain after a lengthy battle with cancer as well as other lifelong illnesses she battled.
Suzanne was born on March 3, 1959 to parents Oma Virginia Smith (Holub) and Gerald “Jody” Smith. She grew up in the neighborhood of Garden Oaks with her 8 siblings and many lifelong friends she gained a long the way. Suzanne was a loving soul who saw the good in everybody, a quality she picked up from her own mother. She knew how to love life and the people who surrounded her in it. She was loved by many who will miss her dearly.
Suzanne first became a mom at the age of 19 years old with then husband Wesley Henderson, to their son Robert Joe Henderson. Then 11 years later with husband James “Jimmy” Keelin welcomed their daughter Kelsey Christine Keelin. Suzanne was a loving grandma to her 3 grandchildren Robert Joe Henderson Jr., Justin Anthony Henderson, and Penelope Arianna Estrada. Next to being a Mom to her children, being a Grandma was her biggest joy in life. She always made sure her grandkids knew how proud she was of them and all their accomplishments no matter how big or small. She was truly the best person to ever have by your side. Suzanne enjoyed reading, traveling, being by the water, watching Houston sports teams (and the Kansas City Chiefs), and spending time doing absolutely anything with her family.
Suzanne is survived by her children, grandchildren, sisters Sandra & Dianne, and brother Jerry. Her memory will live on with her many nieces, nephews, extended family, sister-in-laws, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Rita, and brothers Bobby, Gary “Boa”, Ricky & Rodger.
