

He grew up in a traditional family in his hometown. In 1962, he married Mrs. Maria Nguyễn Thị Chủng (born April 2, 1939), and together they moved to Saigon to live and build their livelihood.
God blessed them with nine children, including five daughters and four sons. At first, the family followed the non-Catholic religious tradition. In 1994, after a period of learning about the faith, the entire family embraced the Catholic faith and joined the Catholic Church.
In 1983, their eldest son, Nguyễn Đức Tín, fled Vietnam by boat. In 1998, through his sponsorship, Mr. and Mrs. Bằng immigrated to the United States. The rest of their children gradually came to reunite with the family in 2005.
Throughout his life, he was always a devoted father, wholeheartedly dedicated to his family, loving his children and grandchildren, and living harmoniously with everyone around him.
In 2020, his beloved wife, Mrs. Maria Nguyễn Thị Chủng, was called home by God in Houston, Texas.
At present, God has blessed him with a large family of seven children (four daughters and three sons), 10 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren.

A Prayer Service will take place at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 4136 BROADWAY ST, HOUSTON, TX 77087, US, on April 9, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with the Rite of Mourning, and visitation will resume after prayer service.
A Funeral Service will be held at Vietnamese Martyr Catholic Church, 10610 Kingspoint Rd, Houston, TX 77075, US, on April 10, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Committal Service will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598, US, on April 10, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
