Bernice Irma Krenek

Bernice Irma Krenek, 80, of Houston, Tx. went to be with the Lord on Sept. 5, 2015. Bernice was born on Aug. 15, 1935 in Giddings, Tx. to William and Ida (Witte) Kipp. Bernice was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Houston. Bernice was a homemaker most of her life and she was exceptional at her profession, a real homemaker. Bernice was an exceptional cook, had a green thumb, loving her plants, she was very crafty and loved to read. She was very proud of her German heritage. She was a strong willed individual. Most of all she cherished spending time with her family and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hilton Krenek, sister Ella Farrack, brother Eddie Kipp. She is survived by her sisters Mamie Seeman and Barbara Dromgoole. Children Bruce Krenek and wife Debbie, Sheryl Mittag and husband Johnie, Donna James and husband Steven. Grandchildren Lacy Piersons and fiancé Ean Ledford, Jenna Spillars and husband Scott, Michelle Zarsky and husband Wesley, Kristine Painter, Tyler James and wife Sabrina, Trey James and wife Mary, Brooke James and fiancé Garrett Becker. Great Granchildren Lilli Piersons, Kadence Piersons, Jordan Ledford, Kolby Spillars, Tinsley Spillars, Nolan Spillars, Brayden Painter, Weston Zarsky, Gavin Zarsky, Aubree James, Rylan James and Hayes James.

Bernice will always be remembered for her open hospitality, love of family and her great cooking. The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Lukes Cardiac ICU Unit for making her final hours as comfortable as possible. Funeral services will be held on Saturday Sept. 12, 2015 at 10:00 am at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Fwy. Houston, Tx. 77039.
