

She was born October 20, 1929 in Port Arthur, Texas, nine days before the Great Depression began. She lived in Woodville, Texas until around 5 years old then moved to Houston, Texas. She was raised in Denver Harbor on the east side of Houston off I-10.
In her early years, she was a pastor’s wife. She loved God’s people and ministering to them by giving a listening ear and a word of encouragement through Scripture.
For the last twenty years she was a member of Believers Fellowship Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in various church ministries. Her favorite was being a prayer warrior for women’s ministries.
On January 23, 1976 she married Lee Dell Kent and was married to him for almost 9 years. They enjoyed traveling, deer hunting, and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Dell Kent Sr., father, Dewey Barclay, mother, Maebelle Barclay Doss, sister, Dora Townley, son, David Johnson Sr., son, Lee Dell Kent Jr.,
She is survived by her daughter, Jacque Miller and husband Michael, son Robert Kent and wife Carol. She has four grandchildren: Dessie Rogers, David Johnson, Sean Miller and wife Courtney, Seth Miller and wife Christie. She has 11 great grandchildren; Lee Rogers, Katy Rogers, Tylar Robinson-Johnson, Taylor Robinson-Johnson, David Johnson, III, Tommie Johnson, Katie Miller, James Miller, Allie Miller, Ransom Miller, and Camille Miller.
She leaves behind a legacy of a life well lived through Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, to all who knew her.
