Betty jo Robison was born on October 30th, 1926, in Logansport, Louisiana, to Alberta (Bert) and Lillie Laura Hunter Robison. She was raised as an only child; having lost a baby brother; in Smackover, Arkansas.
She attended Texas Christian University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1947.
She met the love of her life, Earl Lee Linder, one weekend and they married on August 16th, 1947. They and their two sons eventually settled in Houston, living in Westbury and becoming a lifelong member of Southwest Central Church of Christ.
Betty took educational courses at Sacred Heart in Houston and became a Houston Independent School District Teacher at Briargrove Elementary and Piney Point Elementary schools. She retired after 22 years of service in 1988.
Betty and Earl spent many happy years traveling and taking cruises around the United States and the World. They enjoyed many fishing and camping trips with friends and family. Worldly travels were exciting, but Betty and Earl were just as happy with years of friends and family gatherings at their Lake House in Point Blank, Lake Livingston. They were married for 68 years, and it grieved her so when Earl passed away in 2015.
Betty spent the remainder of her years, still enjoying her Christian family and friends and spending time-especially holidays and birthdays-with her many family members.
Her hobbies included reading, beating many of us at card/board games, completing crossword puzzles, and watching repeated Hallmark movies and episodes of Blue Bloods. Her favorite pastime was taking hours and sometimes days to complete a new puzzle with the occasional help from loved ones.
She is survived by her eldest son, Larry Bruce and his wife Rebecca along with her youngest son, Bradford Wiley and his wife Candace. She is blessed with 5 grandchildren, Stacey Leigh Hall and her husband Shea, Christopher Lee and his wife Jessica, Michael Lee and his wife Jennifer, Catherine Leigh and her husband Franz Williams and Clint and his wife Kelly. She has 15 great-grandchildren, Callan, Dylan, Alyssa, Ethan, Isabella, Kassidy, Seth, Rachel, Gabriel, Lilith, Sofia, Edwin, Johsef and Lenorah Jo. Her granddaughter, Amanda Everleigh Williams, passed away before Betty could get to love her.
A loving devoted Christian woman, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and good friend-she was loved and will be missed by many.
Her good friends include Beverly Thedford, Steve Sandifer and wife Jo Sandifer, Brent Spivey-her weekly dinner companions.
Her loss is felt deeply by her caregiver and companion for months, Debra Gibbs. Debra became the sister Betty never had. They were blessed to have come together at Betty’s time of need and shared many moments of old stories, laughter, tears, fears, and hope.
A visitation will be held on October 28, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Southwest Central Church of Christ, located at 4011 W Bellfort Ave, Houston, TX 77025. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the same location.
