

Beverly Jean Walker Head, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, 6th of September, at her home.
Beverly was born to Lester B. Walker and Cora Ellen Young Walker in Bryan, Texas on the 28th of December 1938. Upon the death of her father, she and her younger sister were raised in Houston by their mother who was an RN at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She graduated from Austin High School in 1956. Beverly met husband, Don L. Head in 1958 and they were married in 1959 living in the Houston area. They had four children, Ronald Wayne, Steven Lowel, Scott Byron and Sharilyn René.
Beverly worked a great majority of her life instilling in her children the value of discipline and hard work ethic throughout her life. Upon given the opportunity to be employed by the University of Texas Medical School located in Houston’s downtown Medical Center, she had a wonderful career that spanned over 34 years working with some of the most gifted and accomplished healthcare professionals and educators in the US. She retired in March of 2011.
Beverly and her family enjoyed many trips every summer vacationing at Camp Warnecke in New Braunfels, Texas, tubing down the Comal River. She enjoyed several cruises out of Galveston Bay, vacations in Florida and California, but some of her most treasured times were spent with her loved ones at the annual Young and Walker family reunions. She loved crafting, making door wreaths, later took up painting canvas works of art; and enjoyed playing bingo with her good friends at the senior community where she lived. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the single biggest fan of all, never missing the hundreds of ballgames and cheerleading events over the span of her lifetime.
She attended the Central church of Christ as a child, later joined the Southside church of Christ and has been a member at the Stafford church of Christ for the past 50 years. Served as a church secretary for a few years upon her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester B. Walker and Cora Ellen Young Walker, her husband, Don L. Head, her sister, Barbara Berryhill and brother-in-law, Bill, her niece, Shonda Conlee. Beverly is survived by her son, Ron and his wife, Dorenda, son, Steve and his wife, Tonya, son, Scott, daughter, Sharilyn Schuh; grandchildren, Jessica Head, Kenny Head and his wife Cathleen, Kristin Head, Jimmy Head, Randy Head and wife, Tiffany, Natalie Villafranca and her husband, Lazaro, Kyle Head, Bryan and Brianna Schuh; great grandchildren, Casen Head, Mateo and Malayna Villafranca; nephew, Ben Berryhill, and his wife Meredith, niece, Sharla de Frere and husband, Mark; great nieces and nephews, Sean and Kinzy Conlee, Raymond Berryhill, Will and Kate de Frere. She also leaves behind many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Stafford Church of Christ, 402 Stafford Run Rd, Stafford, Tx 77477 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. to be followed by the Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 a.m.
