

Blaine Leslie Stokes passed away Thursday March 5, 2015, in Sugar Land, Texas, at the age of 81. Blaine was born on July 9, 1933 in Nashville, TN to Will Leslie and Madge Virgil Stokes. He graduated from Whitehouse, TN in 1951. On July 2, 1953 he married Esther Johnson in Goodlettsville, TN. Blaine entered the United States Air Force in 1953, serving 22+ years as a Master Sergeant. After retiring from the service, Blaine worked at Calcomp and retired a second time from Storage Technology after 36 years. Not one to sit still, Blaine worked part time in his son’s business a few more years before finally settling into “retirement”. He and his wife are members of Mission Bend Church of Christ. Blaine enjoyed woodworking but the family knows it was more about “collecting the wood” that he really enjoyed.
Blaine is survived by his wife, Esther Stokes of 62 years; Brother: John Stokes and wife Virginia from TN; Children: Mark Stokes and wife Vanessa, John Stokes and wife Patricia, William “Bill” Stokes and wife Barbara, Cindy Stokes Baker; Grandchildren: Michael Stokes and wife Yilan, Rebecca Stokes Eckstein and husband Ben, Christopher Stokes, Shane Stokes, Nathan Stokes and wife Marie, Terica Glover Starr and husband Doug, Beau Baker and partner Mikaylie Lang, Chase Stokes, Blake Stokes, Cody Baker and partner Stephanie Brink, Quinn Stokes, Ryan Rodriguez; Great Grandchildren: Harper Eckstein, Kaylee and Knox Starr, Savannah Stokes, Brandon and Jazmyne Langford, Emery Baker, Jaxon Baker, Jaiden Lang and Lily Baker.
