Bonita Louise Adamson was born August 12, 1964 in Camden, South Carolina to her parents, Robert and Louise Adamson.
During the hour of 4am on July 14, 2021 at her home, the Lord dispatched an angel to escort Bonita to her Heavenly Home.
Bonita accepted Jesus Christ into her heart at an early age. Sanders Creek Baptist Church, Camden, S.C. remained her home church due to extensive travel with her military family.
Bonita attended Skyline Elementary School in Tacoma, WA. graduated high school in Willingboro, N.J., received her Certificate of Completion for Sensory Awareness at the Braille Institute in California and was very involved with the activities at Foundation for the Junior Blind in California. She attended Dallas & Houston Lighthouse for the blind and received her Certificate of Personal Social Adjustment.
At the age of 6 years old, Bonita was diagnosed with a tumor called Astrocytoma, located on the Pituitary Gland and optic nerve. After full brain radiation, her parents were given a very negative prognosis. The Lord blessed Bonita to live 50 years beyond what the doctors expected. In spite of her health and disabilities, she let nothing stop her and always had a smile. She had many talents and hobbies. Bonita loved theme parks and would ride all the scary rides. She loved to tell jokes she learned from her father and laughed so hard, she could hardly tell them. She loved to use her hands and made lots of beautiful arts and crafts. Bonita made the front page news on the ski slopes on an outing with the foundation for the Junior Blind. Singing may not have been her best talent, but she didn’t care and sang loudly and gave it all she had with passion, not to mention she will sing every verse. Her favorite music was gospel and R&B.
Bonita’s mother, was not only a loving mother, but she was her counselor, mentor, teacher, nurse, caregiver and friend until she needed correction or discipline. She encouraged her to reach for the sky and Bonita did so with joy, inspiring others with her accomplishments and enthusiasm.
She leave to cherish her memories, her parents, Major Robert Adamson (retired) and Louise Adamson, two sisters, Nicole Williams and Cheryl Adamson of Houston, TX., four aunts, Barbara Woodward (Woody) and Louvenia Drakeford, of New York, Esther Johnson of Camden, S.C., Diane Ervin (Charles) of Las Vegas, NV., many “special” first cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Bonita, God has you in his keeping and we have you in our memories.
